Mount dora, a close stop from orlando

Less than 2 hours away from Downtown Orlando, you can find an amazing and very cosy town called Mount Dora. The name and its history are very simple, there is a lovely lake in front of the Downtown of the town, it was named after Dora, and later on, the name was given too for the place.

The spirit of a small town is very present, you can sense it in all local businesses. Lovely streets and relaxing ambient. Is not too far away and is quite easy to visit. In my case, I have visited several times, and I will gladly do it again.

There are places where my food necessities may take me like to Mount Dora Olive Oil Company you can have special tea, delicious mussels by the lake, a lovely Martini (I guess that you are not supposed to drive later) or just an Irish coffee.

One of the things that I really enjoyed was having a drink next to the lake with some tapas. In this case, tapas were anything but expected because there were made of brie cheese (my favorite!) pears, and nuts! How nuts, right? Well that combination has been hunting me forever. A year later I had a similar sandwich in Antwerp and since then, oh I just try to replicate. Oh, don’t forget it had some honey too!

If you stay longer there you may see the train going by or even just hear its sound! I took some time to walk through the tracks and of course, is a perfect photo spot.
